Can anyone recommend an entertainment lawyer?
« on: October 25, 2012, 10:48 AM »
I am collaborating with a screenwriter who is adapting my novel for the screen. Can anyone recommend an entertainment lawyer who could look over the agreement drafted by his attorney?

Thanks!

Elaine English is both a literary attorney and an agent. I haven't worked with her but have met her and know she comes highly recommended.  www.elaineenglish.com

Anyone (including Matt Hooper) at Foster Pepper in Seattle, if you're near there.

(But M's suggestion might be better, since she has the agent perspective, too.)

Elaine English is both a literary attorney and an agent.

For screenplays you need an actual entertainment lawyer which is different from a "Literary" lawyer, though. If the agreement is between you and the other screenwriter, his/her own attorney would be able to suggest someone at another firm, more than likely. That would at least give you a place to start.
