Commenting in Adobe Acrobat--help!
« on: October 23, 2012, 04:16 PM »
I have a pdf of a book that I'd like to comment on using Adobe Acrobat.  Thing is, I know nothing about AA.  However, I am very familiar with Microsoft Office commenting and track changes.

Does anyone care to give me a quick once-over about AA?   :grin  There's a virtual  :cupcake in it for you!

I think you just go to the "Comment" tab all the way to the right side. Click on it and your tools will pop up. If you hover over a tool, it will kind of explain what it is. It's not quite as easy as Word, so you might want to practice a little before launching into it. Does that help?

Yes!  Believe me, anything will help at this point.  Thanks, Adam.

Well, I'm sure I don't know the half of it, but I did manage to make it through the document using sticky notes and highlighting!  And I think I even saved my suggestions, so that's good.  I wish there was some way to spell check a pdf using AA, though.

There is a Check Spelling option under the Edit menu, but it's hard to use. What you could possibly do is go to "File" and "Save as Other" and save it as a Word document. If the text isn't flattened already, it will show up in the Word doc. You can run your spell check as you normally would and then mark the changes on your PDF version. (If the text is flattened, it's basically like a picture, and spell check won't work in any program.)
