Topic: What qualifies a PB series, as well, a PB series?

I have things that I consider a "series" in my mind but do they in fact count as a series:
 
1. (The obvious) same character, different adventures
 
2. different characters, in fairly different settings, very different lessons/morals, all have some major social flaw (this one is the one I am more curious, as to if it qualifies)
