Hey everyone. I am working on a new NF piece to send to Highlight's (or whoever will take it if they don't).  One of my experts, after receiving the questions I sent her via e-mail said she would rather answer them by talking instead of spending forever typing. We are going to Skype (at some point in the future). But here is my question. With the last article I sent in to Highlights, they wanted to read my interviews. I sent them copies of the e-mail exchanges. Now I don't have that option.

Do you believe they will be okay with just a copy of my notes?

Oh, notes are perfectly fine. I've done phone interviews and I always take notes, and send those along. Also a magazine like Highlights will do it's own independent fact checking.

You could also record the interview and then transcribe it. Makes it easy to include quotes in your article.

Make sure you get permission to record, first. However, recording systems can fail, so take good notes!
