Thanks for all the congrats!!  I love this book so much and it's taken about 4 years from idea to finding the right publisher (thanks to my agent Jill Corcoran!). Also I owe thanks to former-editor/now-agent Abi Samoun who was interested in this book when she worked at Tricycle and gave me a suggestion which changed it from just cute to "educational" too.

For those who are curious, here is the opening line -- it's not rhyming and 650 words.
More than anything, Ally wanted a dog. 

Too soon to share any more. I haven't reached the editorial stage yet so it's possible the words could change. I hope not too much.
