Picture books about opinions
« on: September 11, 2012, 02:53 PM »
For an article in Scholastic Instructor - I'm looking for picture books that have to do with opinions (having them/expressing them)

Here are a few I have so far:

I Wanna Iguaua
Animals Should Definitely Not Act Like People
Red is Best
A Pig Parade is a Terrible Idea
Too Purpley

Any other ideas? Thanks!

I just read the newly released CECIL THE PET GLACIER. The MC has a strong opinion about having a glacier for a pet! And what about EARTH TO CLUNK (MC doesn't not want an alien penpal from Quazar). Seems like most PBs with strong characters could fall under this category of having/expressing opinions (FANCY NANCY, SKIPPYJON JONES, PINKALICIOUS, OLIVIA, etc.). Is that what you're looking for?

Car - Thanks for putting TOO PURPLEY! on the list. Wow! I'm honored.  :yay
TOO PICKLEY! and TOO PRINCESSY! are opinion books as well. I'm wondering if any of the new baby, little brother or little sister books would classify as opinion books. Or would that be too harsh?  :whistle  How about Sophie Peterman Tells the Truth!?

P.S. Please let me know when the article comes out!

P.S. Please let me know when the article comes out!

Sometimes I don't know myself but I'll try to remember to drop you a line when I get my contributor copies. Actually, I used Too Pickley! in the article itself. I incorporated the book into an activity so it gets a bit more mention than being included in the sidebar. :-)  Hopefully it doesn't get cut.
