Thanks, everyone. You know that dark place you're in sometimes, when you wonder if you've actually got a future in this business? And you've had so many ups that turned into downs? And you have taken so much out of your personal life in order to do that? And you wonder if you're crazy, or if your friends and family think you're crazy?
Sometimes, it works out.
I think the biggest thing is persistence and dedication. It isn't talent (it helps, but it only gets you further along on a road, like a scooter...others can just run and catch up). It certainly isn't "who you know."
The other big thing is being surrounded by those who support you, and that's what this place is for. It's that nightlight, for when the publishing world is going dark.
