I don't know if anyone else's websites are effected today but Go Daddy is out - thousands of sites are involved. Mine included

I was thinking "infected" - LOL. Thanks for the heads up. My facebook notifications come through my go daddy hosted email, but I'm still getting those, so that appears to be OK on my end.

Yes, generally speaking, affect is a verb and effect is a noun.  (though I'm not Bueller...)

In your post, it would be "affected"...and you're feeling the "effects" of it.

But "affect" can be a noun, meaning an expressed or observed emotional response (frequently used in psych assessments), and "effect" can be used as a verb, meaning to produce or bring something about.

erm...this is why I just avoid using those two words if I can and rephrase it somehow.  (<---I just wanted to use that guy, I never noticed him before)
