And it's teased on the front cover! I happened to be at Stop & Shop today and saw the mag, then remembered what month it is! (duh) For those of you who subscribe -- or those of you who might thumb through it at your pediatrician's office or at the checkout counter -- it's teased as "A Simple Trick That Squelches Squabbles." Unfortunately, you can't access it online....

OMG, what a thrill! I can only imagine what you feel like to see your *book* on a store shelf! My kids were also excited because not only do I mention their names, but there's a teensy family photo at the end -- they love seeing their picture in print! (Oldest said, "Mom, you're a *real* writer now!" :lol2 )

I'm a little excited, and so appreciate the support of everyone here, I just had to share the news! Woot!

Ironically, the kids were squabbling over who was going to bring the copy into school tomorrow to show it off. :snork I said, "NO ONE! It's going in the FANCY box for my FANCY writing clips!" :lol2 (It's not a very full box....

)

Funny enough, shortly after I posted this, I got an R for another essay that I was quite hopeful about. Such is the life of a writer! (OTH, *this* essay began it's life as an R, too, so you never know!)

That's a fun way to find your work in print. I love your oldest's comment. Gee, thanks kid. :D Keep on celebrating. Another rejection means you're getting your stuff out there. That's half the battle. Oh, and I always try to get at least two -- one for that FANCY box and one to have out for show and tell.

That's funny your kids were fighting over who got to take it in to show off. When I had my first book published, none of my kids were all that impressed and my oldest forget to even tell his teacher!

Goofy update -- Just found out via Google alert that the piece was reprinted in the Miami Herald and the Macon (GA) Tribune. Who knew they did that sort of thing? Definitely a fun email to get on a rainy Tuesday night....

Jenna, that is so cool! I haven't been on much here so I'm sorry I missed your first post about it! I subscribed to that mag when my kids were smaller--I loved it! That's a huge deal you are in there! I'll have to check for it at the library or something.
