I'll be there! Looking forward to meeting you all, and getting a shot in the arm.

Schriscoe, too bad you can't come. My husband and I were able to arrange all the logistics for work/school and I hope I don't get an assignment that's due then! As much as I love doing wfh, the deadlines are TIGHT.

Tameka, I'm a transplant from the evergreen state of WA. We moved last year ... and I couldn't be happier here in the Charleston area.

Looking forward to meeting you.

I miss my WWA writer buds too, Angelina. Plus, the conference were practically in my backyard ... Now I have to drive a good 3-4 hours ...

J, it will be great to meet you ... I love meeting BBers.
Ghost -- thanks. I still remember our time at Chautauqua together. It's kind of nice being on the East Coast ... on our cross-country move we were able to meet with a couple of writer-friends. So fun. My daughter is turning into a regular Carolina girl and my son recently commented that he didn't know it was normal to drip buckets of sweat.

I am so happy to hear other Blueboarders will be at the conference.  I will be on the lookout for you guys!  I very carefully scoured the information today and tried to plan out which breakout sessions I will be attending.  It is so hard!  I also downloaded several MG novels onto my Kindle written by speakers, so I have a lot of reading to catch up on in the next week (wish I had started this sooner).

Only one more week to go!

Okay, Donna mentioned dinner on Friday night ... and I'm hoping y'all will join us. I have no idea about how anything is organized here, or places to eat or anything, so I'm hoping the locals will direct me.

I have so much to catch up on before I leave and I'm sure I'll forget something important, but it won't matter in the end.
Just a couple more days before we hit the road.

YAH! Everyone can join in! I'd love for us all to eat together. There are few other Carolinas members who will be joining us (but aren't on Verla's) and I think we'll have a blast!

Buckets of sweat? Love it! It really is... at least in the south. Whew! I have lived her my whole life -- but I still don't like the humidity. UGH!

I'll be there!  I probably can't do dinner (I'll have the family with me), but I'd be glad to meet you guys!  Maybe I'll wear my "Jaina" ballcap so you'll know which one is me.  (Too bad it's not all that flattering--maybe I need a cool Jaina fedora?)

Shall we say meet in the lobby at 5:30? If my memory serves me from 2 years ago, there's a cluster of club chairs across from the check-in counter. We'll have name tags, yes?

Anyway, I look like my picture - glasses, reddish/brown hair, 40'ish (hanging on that ish for all I'm worth!), on the tall side of medium. On the medium side in general.

That sounds perfect!  I am so excited to meet some BBers--although my number of posts is low, I am on here quite a bit.  (I am definitely a "shy poster.")  I'm looking forward to meeting you all!  :yay

Donna, I just sent you an email.  Thank you!

I'm using the hotel computer to say I'm enjoying myself thoroughly ... fun to meet you all. Jaina looks like a Jaina, not a Susan :) JRo is very medium sized and Becky is not a flower after all. Tomorrow we have half the day together and then we'll be heading home ... to laundry and cooking and writing.

Um, Vijaya. . .what does a Susan look like, exactly?

(Just hopping aboard to say that family stuff forced me to miss this conference again this year. Carolinas always throws a great meeting, so I'm sure you're all totally exhausted and exhilarated at this point, toting bagels and coffee into the wrap-up session.)

I didn't get a chance to say goodbye, but I wanted to tell you all--I had a great time meeting you!  The whole conference was certainly money and time well-spent.  Now I am exhausted and on the road home.

I was hoping Vijaya would tell everyone that I am, in fact, a penguin.

Well you sure seemed to enjoy the fish we would toss your way. I could swear you were a penguin, and if you're not, your secret's safe with me.  :jackolanturn:

All kidding aside - it was so fun to meet Vijaya, Becky, Donna, Miriam (writgtchr), and Jaina - I booked it out of there too (hate goodbyes), but it was awesome.

Till next year!  :)
