Submitting in August?
« on: August 19, 2012, 11:49 AM »
I had no idea where to post this, so I hope this is the right place.

We've all heard that publishing is very, very slow during the summer. I have been highly motivated lately to submit, but I've also heard it's best to wait until after Labor Day.  Is that true? If it's going in the slush pile, does it really matter?

Having said that, I do think I will wait on email subs until Sept.

Thoughts??

We just had this thread, and do regularly. :) Business proceeds year round. If it's ready, submit.

Most everyone I know is going on vacation in the coming two weeks. So what?

Most everyone I know also answers queries in the order received... so if you send today, I'll get to it as soon as I can when I am back from vacation. If you send in two weeks, I'll get to it as soon as I can after I get back from vacation and through the two weeks worth of submissions that accrued whilst I was away.
