As for the pairing of the events, I received a puzzle book acceptance the day my dear bil died and a poem acceptance from Highlights when my mom was in the hospital dying. It doesn't take away the pain, but maybe it's God's way of sending a little ray of light and hope in the midst of all the sadness.
