Who appeals to teens now-a-days?  Justine Timberlake?  I think Justin Bieber is too young for a fifteen/sixteen year old?  Right?  WHo else is considered hot to the young set?

The One Direction guys? They don't know they're beautiful--that's what makes them beautiful.

But two years from now, the earliest a book that sold today would be out, who knows who will be popular. I think it also dates a book to put that kind of thing in there, unless it's sure to last. And, there aren't that many people/things that do. Just my opinion, though.

Actually, I think the Biebs is like 18 now? For a 15/16 year old girl, in their heads that could mean he could totally be their "Boyfriend"...but (depending on what you're writing) this could date the story. You might want to make up a fictional pop star.

Oh, and if you're looking for actors as well, Robert Pattinson just got even more attractive as girls all over the world want to comfort him over his break up with Kristen Stewart. (the Twilight couple)

Actually, I was kind of surprised at how absolutely thrilled some of those Olympic athletes were that Justin Bieber was tweeting them and making videos to encourage them during the games. Missy Franklin is 17 and she was swooning. The gymnasts, too. So maybe he does appeal to a certain type of teen?

One advantage of making up a teen idol is that the made-up one won't be arrested or caught in some major scandal in the next couple of years. Just a thought.
