Something new has been added to your profile. If you are a current member of SCBWI (the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators) then you need to go into your profile, click on Modify Profile, then Forum Profile, and change your SCBWI status to YES from NO. (It's NO by default.)

I'm curious, is this a searchable database, or just something you see if you check someone's profile?  (Can you check someone else's profile?  Clearly I have not thought to do this yet.)  FWIW, I have no plans to use this information regardless.  I'm just the curious type.

At this point, it's something that will show up in your profile, and also on every post you have on the board. It's a way for SCBWI members to know immediately if someone else is also affiliated with SCBWI when they are reading their posts. You can look for each other at conferences, etc.  It also helps the Administrators when registering members. We are very careful about trying to allow registrations from only real people... not spam bots. I've never yet met a spam bot at an SCBWI conference or seen a book written or illustrated by a spam bot....

I doubt it, Llehn, unless you are really excited about reading a book with nothing in it but where to get the best mortgage rates from unethical places, how to um... uh... enhance your life, or find places to buy that "little blue pill" everyone seems to "need" in order to have a rich and full life.
