Topic: web notification when a review is posted?

I was googling my book today (Is that weird?) and found a review I didn't know about!! (I'm sure my publisher sent them an ARC.) I was totally psyched to read it!! She said my writing was good! 

My question: Is there a way to be notified when a review hits the web?

Well, you can sign up for google alerts on your name and/or title. This will email you every time there's a new mention online - you can have it set up so it is immediate, or in "digest" form once a day, etc.

Just remember, Dionna, that Google alerts doesn't filter.  So you get the less pleasant ones, too, if there are any.  I hope that isn't an issue for you, of course.

I googled my book and found out that I made the Sunshine State Young Reader's Award list! So, google away!

AWESOME!  I wonder, though, why they didn't notify you, the author, directly?

A lot of times, the publisher gets such notifications, and then they have to notify the author.  Even with just a 24-hour turnaround, Google alerts may be faster.

One thing I've noticed about Google Alerts -- google doesn't include PDFs in trawling of the web. And many state awards don't publish the nominees on the web, they post a PDF.... I found out about being on the South Carolina list when a teacher contacted me to do a Skype visit. (My publicist didn't know either!)

My editor was away at a conference at the time. When she answered my email a couple days later, she said she knew but was not allowed to say anything until the list was made official.
