Best Blogs/Resources for Non-fiction Readers?
« on: June 30, 2012, 08:34 PM »
What are your favorite resources to find what's new in non-fiction?  I'm researching a possible blog post for the Mixed-Up Files with a focus on non-fiction (as well as researching for myself). I'm more interested in non-fiction from a reader's perspective, so I'm not looking for sites about craft, submitting and trends but more about the books themselves. Any suggestions?

Marc Aronson's (former) blog (he just stopped, you can scroll back) is good: http://blog.schoollibraryjournal.com/nonfictionmatters/author/marcaronson/

And Teaching Authors can hit that topic sometimes: http://www.teachingauthors.com

But my NF pal says: "the must-have online resource is really the nfforkids yahoo group."
The Farwalker Trilogy
The Humming of Numbers

I really like Non Fiction Detectives here: http://www.nonfictiondetectives.com/

Also, Anastasia Suen runs Nonfiction Mondays, where bloggers take turns hosting review of nonfiction books for kids on Mondays. Here's more info: http://nonfictionmonday.wordpress.com/
