Help me break a curse!
kadje70:
My modern day mc needs to break a curse that began in the mid 1600's in an Iroquois tribe. Balance of body, mind, spirit, and nature was extremely important to the Iroquois so I was thinking my mc should collect things that represent those four things. What she already has- a braid of hair (body?) and six rings carved of wood and stained with blood (nature?).
I could really use some ideas for spirit and mind.
Thanks all!
AdamV:
Some tribes had medicine pouches that would work for spirit. Not sure if that applies to Iroquois, but I bet they had something similar.
middleC:
What about a feather to represent Spirit? Feathers are said to be gifts from the Great Spirit :)
scribblegirl:
How about standing on a tree stump? The heart of the tree is beneath her feet, and the roots of the tree connect with the earth....on a stormy day when the sky spirits flash lightning and the wind spirits howl and laugh.

All good ideas.
scibblegirl- that would work except the collection of items must be sent over Niagara Falls to replace a sacrifice that was never made. Having it go over during a storm is a something to think about. I also pictured it happening at night - so maybe something to do with the phase of the moon.
The rusty wheels of my mind are a-turning! :-)
