Yay Julia on two counts - the good dr news and the full-time goal in sight!

Got a chunk of rewriting done yesterday and plan on more today. I have one more month of freedom before school starts back up in the fall and the little munchkins appear again, sunburnt and bigger, ready for another year.

up and running!  Starting a new project today! I am excited, but it's that  'dare I stick my toes in the cold water' feeling. Good dr news for you, Julia...and retiring!  Woo hoo!  My husband and I dream of that...sigh.  JFriday, those chunks added together make a mighty mountain.  You go, girl!  :cheerleader

Checking in, as well, but this AM will be used to write the bunny letters to the grandbabies; the bunnies who live in our yard have their own laptops and write once a month, rain or shine....
JFriday, enjoy your freedom before school starts (loved the "sunburnt and bigger"!); Julia, take it easy, and it's a good thing you don't type with your toes.   :)  scribblegirl, there's nothing like a new project!  Go for it!
Happy writing, all!

Ha! Tori - this morning it FELT like I was typing with my toes! I only got 254 words written. Slow as molasses... Well, tomorrow (or maybe even tonight) is another writing opportunity!

Hope everyone is doing well (on & off the keyboards!) :pickle

I am swimming in molasses, too. Must be the bloody heat shrinking my brain cells like fried eggs in a hot cast iron skillet!  hmmm....eggs...maybe I need some protein.

I'm back from vacation.  Probably take a few days to settle in and be back to work next week.  Delighted to see the progress everyone has been making.

Welcome back, Maj, and good luck diving back into your writing.

It's almost 9:30am here on the West Coast and I'm just now beginning, so I'm certainly not an early riser today.

Good to see the progress, no matter how small, from all of you!

My goal today is to cut and combine two chapters.

Here, JFriday, but off to bike-writing with DH (oh the sacrifices we make! :)), then should be back to the keyboard.  It's still DARK out!

I hate this time difference nonsense.  Most of the time, I seem to bang-slap in the middle of two time zones.  4.15pm here and I have pen and paper here beside me.  Kind of ridiculous when I have the laptop, but I know I won't write on a computer so I had better shut up and shut down.

Later than I want to be, but I'm here. Re-reading James Scott Bell's Revision and Self-Editing, and jotting ideas down for my MG. I LOVE ideas!

Well, I woke up a lot earlier than I got up! I laid around in bed enjoying the sound of RAIN on the skylight. Since we are in the severest drought here since 1957 - reveling in rain is totally worth it!

Anyway - now I am focused on writing! :typing  Onward, HO! :horse

Only got 389 words this morning (darn!) - but, I had a little research to do. Did you know that a Seventeen magazine cost 50 cents in 1961? These are important things! :moose  On to the day job.

Write, ho! Peeps! :writing

Yay Julia! You were here!

Wouldn't it be great to go back to the prices of the 1960's with the salaries we make today?

Yawn!  Good morning -- trying to jumpstart myself awake with coffee before I get dragged out the door for the bike-writing, but good news -- yesterday had a big breakthrough on the picture book that's been stymieing (sp) me.  How can so few words prove to be so troubling, and than -- woohooo!  Now I can't wait to get back to the pencil and paper after the ride....Julia!  I read Seventeen cover to cover in 1961....and wished I looked like the Breck girls and Christie Brinkley!

Julia, how about that Bonne Bell ad with the girl stalking off the tennis court?  Wanted to be her, too.  Plus her tennis partner (who may have won, judging by the expression on her face!) was cute.
Remember?
And kindred spirits, yes!   :partytime

Oh, I remember a beautiful black and white sweater on the cover of Seventeen one issue. Totally loved it. And THEN - I actually SAW a girl in my high school WEARING it!!

Once the shock wore off, I was a wee bit green with the envy monster. I mean really, how could she afford what was on the cover of Seventeen? Even now I have a tinge...

So, Julia and JFriday, do we need to do a Nostalgia Green Envy Seventeen thing somewhere?  Giggle!

Ha! Nostalgia Green Envy Seventeen - love it! :envy:

Tori - alas, I don't remember that ad - but I did use Bonnie Bell's Ten-O-Six astringent!

JFriday - is this is sweater? http://www.seventeen.com/fun/articles/65th-anniversary-cover-archive#slide-25

Okay - now that I'm home from work, I should get stuff done so I can be a Night Owl writer tonight!

JFriday and Julia, how did you FIND that, Julia??  Is THAT why I still to this day hanker after argyle print sweaters and socks?  A sweater deferred?  :)
Off to cook and hopefully simmer some pb ideas on the back burner at the same time.  See you domani!

Julia, what a scream! No, that wasn't it, but I looked at every single cover - that was great!
