Ev -
Thank you for providing such a wonderful resource for Children's Magazine Writers.  :)  It is wonderful to have all that information in one place and not have to run around the internet all crazy-like. (Which I frequently do!)  If I think of anything sub-worthy I will send it your way.  In the mean time:  :thankyou

I appreciate the encouragement and kind words.

CestMoi, I'm sorry but back issues aren't available.  The sample issue overview remains a part of the site indefinitely (see Clubhouse Jr for the April one), but I ask authors for only 1-month rights to their articles, so when the month is up, they're gone.

Hi!  Just wanted to let you know the second issue of Writing for Children's Magazines is up.  Hope you find it helpful.

I loved hearing about all of the preparation which goes into writing a story or article. It makes me feel comfortable about mine. Is there a way to look at the back articles?

I'm sorry, Allison, but there's not a way to look at back articles.

I apologize for not responding to your post sooner. I got sidetracked with a visit to Michigan to visit my brand new grandson, and then somehow didn't get caught up on all the posts I'd missed.

Thank YOU, Ev! I enjoyed writing the overview, and Ruth's article was great. I'll need to set aside some time for a brainstorming session.

Keep it coming!

Cool!  I just discovered that Carrie's article is mentioned on BabyBug's official blog.  They say, "Check out Carrie Finison’s article...it’s full of useful tips for aspiring authors!"

Congratulations, Carrie!  And thanks again for writing such a terrific article.   :goldstar

Writing for Children’s Magazines--July issue up!

The July issue of W4CM is now up.  A teen magazine is featured for the overview this time—written by Karen Leet.  And Nancy Allen shares with us tips for making our characters more authentic.

Hope you enjoy the issue,

Hmmm....strange, Cindy.  When I click on the link, it takes me to the July issue.  Maybe try refreshing the page, if you get the June issue again, and see if that helps.

Hi everybody,

The August issue of W4CM is now up.  Included in it is a wonderful overview of Pockets magazine by Amy Cobb--our very own Writermutt from here on the Blue Board :thankyou .

Melissa Abramovitz also has a great article about focusing our topics. Melissa recently had a book published on writing for children's magazines, so you might want to check that out if you haven't already seen it.

Well, it's definitely a team effort.  All of you who submit to it help to make it the useful resource it is.

And, of course, everybody who visits the ezine are part of the team, too, because if nobody came, there'd be no reason to have it.

I was out of town for almost two weeks without internet access, or I would've mentioned sooner that the September issue of W4CM includes very helpful pieces from two of our own Blue Board members.

Thank you, Sara Matson, for your excellent overview of Highlights magazine with lots of tips for writing for that publication!  And thank you, Maude Stephany, for your wonderful article giving suggestions for writing for magazine themes!
