Interviewing a ghost on the Mixed Up Files of Middle Grade Authors. You heard that right...a ghost. Derek the Ghost to be exact. He wrote SCARY SCHOOL..it's fun, it's creepy. I moved around a lot when I was a kid. Never had to fit into a school quite like this, but kind of wish I had. Also doing a giveaway of the book!

Here's the interview and info on the giveaway:

Today, I blogged about some of my favorite middle-grade novels that came out in the past couple of years by new authors (or authors who are new to this genre).  I also included quite a few recent MG favorites that Blueboarders shared with me.  Many of them are books I already love...and there are several I never heard of that look awesome. I can't wait to add them to my must-read list!

Want a chance to win a signed copy of the amazing middle-grade novel, Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes, by Jonathan Auxier? Hop on over to my interview on the Mixed-Up Files site and leave a comment. Jonathan shared tons of great info, including an awesome reading exercise that could be a huge help when plotting future manuscripts.

Thanks Mindy! Got my entry in too! What a cool interview. I'm trying so hard to better my knowledge of plot, so his tidbit was very timely.

Hop on over to the Mixed-Up Files blog to read an interview with Robin Mellom, author of THE CLASSROOM: The Epic Documentary of a Not-Yet Epic Kid.  It's the first book in her new series for middle grade readers.  Robin shares the differences between writing MG and YA, her favorite and least favorite memories from middle school, and how a chat with the editor of her debut novel helped turn the first manuscript she wrote into this amazing series.

Leave a comment on the Mixed-Up Files site for a chance to win a signed copy of THE CLASSROOM!

My interview with agent Alyssa Eisner Henkin is up on the Mixed-Up Files site. She shares tons of helpful info about the changing market and great ways for authors to promote themselves. She's giving away a copy of the bestselling MG, Wonder...plus a 20 page critique of a middle grade manuscript! WOW! She also shared a link to another giveaway of a critique for one picture book or up to 20 pages of an MG or YA.
