Almost 1500 words today, and now a weekend off to ponder what it might feel like to be a bear. See you guys on Monday!

Another 1000 words today, and I downloaded and imported my story into Ywriter5. I am so excited. This is going to be so much easier for revisions.  Tomorrow is an important chapter for setting up what MC's goals have to be to break the curse. I get to start brainstorming one sided dialogue (since bears can't talk).

I feel like I post so rarely in this area, but I did it! 1000 words, and it's not even 11 am. And I'm on vacation. (It just shows that being on vacation is sometimes essential to loosening your brain.) I'm really hoping that once I get home and the kids go back to school, the rest of it will just fall out of my head onto the page.

Go, everyone!

I'm done with my revisions, and I spent today reading and tightening up what I already have down in this book. Tomorrow I'll be back to striving for 1500 words. I'm so excited to be back.

I just looked at the word count, 2000 words more than before lunch.  I did it!  It feels so good!

Well I'm posting because yesterday I wrote 850 and today was 530 to round out the chapter at almost 1400 words. It was a busy day to day with car issues and insurance and kids and everything else. Almost to 24,000 words and now I'm wondering just how long this story is going to be. And along with that...how much will I have to cut?

Great job everyone on their writing. You're all very inspirational.

822 words today so far for me plus a query letter. Just trying to get back into the routine after being at the summer conference all weekend.

Update: Made it just over 1000 words! Hooray! I am four chapters away from the end...it's so close!

Lucky you, Sunflower, to be able to go to summer conference. I got through 1700 words today, and my villain has just started nudging my MC down the wrong path. I have 22,000 words written and I am wondering the same thing as AmandaSue. After all, my MC still has to make it a fair way down the wrong path before she figures it out and tries to set things right.

1466 words today. Two big action scenes down, two to go. Then some loose ends to wrap up and I will have a complete first draft. I hope I can keep it up!

My condolences, Liz. My week is crummy, too, but not nearly as bad as yours. Still, I did manage to get 1500 words.

Another 1200 words, another chapter that I already have revision ideas for to make it more action packed, but...I just made a note and will save those for revisions. I need to finish the first draft before I revise and get sick to death of this story! haha

Why do I feel insanely jealous everytime I read this thread?  I didn't manage one word this morning but it's mid-afternoon here, so it could change.

985 words and a chapter. Lots of necessary explaining being done. The chapter is almost entirely dialogue.

1200 words today. I am starting the hardest part of my story now...the middle. haha. Ok so I've been in the middle for a while now, but I knew exactly where it had to go to get to the point I'm at now. However, my plotting is a little less planned out at this point. I know the events I have to hit and I know where I need to get in the end, and I also know the character arc I want to show. I just need to connect the dots now. So, hopefully things keep progressing.

AmandaSue - that sounds so familiar. I have been in that place for two weeks now. It is so hard. I know you can do it (I have two more chapters to go before all my dots are connect...so close, yet, so far.)

As for me: 818 words in my WIP today plus a 521 word PB for the 12x12 challenge.

AmandaSue, I am on my way to the same place. I have maybe one more day of writing, and then I get the to this middle part where I know what has to happen and why, but I don't necessarily know how. I wrote 1800 words today. They came easily as if to make up for yesterday.

Just over 900 words today. I wasn't quite sure how the scene was going to go when I started it, I just knew that I needed a certain event to happen.  When I let the characters do the talking (or not talking as one of the characters is silent), it turned out to actually be a touching scene. Perhaps my favorite so far.

Anissa - So happy you could join us here! :goldstar I wish you the best with your WIP

It was like pulling teeth today getting me to sit down and work on my project today, but I'm so glad I did because I managed 2336 words and finished a chapter. I am two chapters (one of them a major action scene) away from a first draft.

Wait, there's a 1000 words a day club? I could have totally joined you when I was drafting... 1000 words a day is my usual goal, and usually a meet it. Right now, I think I wrote maybe 500? Or more? Because I'm revising a different WIP, and we all know how that goes. Two steps forward, one step back...

1,150 words for me today. A little light--but I have so much going on right now that I was lucky to get these.
