1524 words today...I am hoping for a little extra to bump me over 2000. I got this crazy idea in my head that for the next 5 days my goal is 2000 words a day. Yikes!

I also just wanted to say - being able to share my progress with you guys is a huge motivator!  :)

:milkshake: :milkshake: :milkshake: :milkshake: ......So milkshakes all around! (mine is made from chocolate rice milk and vegan dark chocolate)

Update: Final tally --2263 words. Here's to hoping I can keep it up. Lots of action sequences today. And tomorrow the MC will be in the arms of one of the villains. Meep!

Way to go Sunflower! I wrote 975 words today, but it finished a chapter and I'm sure it will get beefed up in revision, so I am counting it! MC today had a heart to heart with his brother about his problems at 3 am, but brother fell asleep before the end. So no real good advice like the MC was hoping for! haha

1804 words today...not quite my personal goal, but I completed a chapter today. It felt like the right place to stop...

AmandaSue -- Don't you hate when you're looking for advice and your partner/friend falls asleep one you? Very cute =)

Joining in . . .

I wrote 1,000 words today  in a few short word sprints.

It's been tough getting back into the first draft -- but today I felt like the Little Engine That Could  and now I'm builing up steam to go forward faster   :snail

I'm inspired by the rest of you and your accomplishments in your writing    =)

Good job Liz!  I got another 1,000 words down myself...before lunchtime! I'm on a roll. Today I had to illustrate some of the MC's flaws in order to show a change in the end. He's kind of a jerk in this chapter.

Great to see you here, Liz! I hope you can keep the words flowing. This thread his been a huge help for me. Very thankful for you all!

1532 words so far today...MC had a rough last chapter and is recovering this chapter. This chapter keeps coming to me into large strings of dialogues and I'm just letting it course through me.

My mc has been a bit of a jerk the whole way through my latest dose of writing.  But I am not certain that is trait of his personality or of my creation.
No writing today. Until now, I've been covered in chocolate.  The weekend is nearly here which usally gives me time to myself.

1217 words today (some of it typed in from a 1am journal scribbling :love3: because my characters just wouldn't be quiet.)
The next chapter is stewing inside me for now...

Thunderingelephants, jerk is not his trait, being overly worried about what other people think of him is...which leads to him being a jerk sometimes (to people lower on the popularity chain, and there aren't many) but yeah, he was rude to the only kid who is more of a loser than he is. But don't worry, that'll change by the end. haha

Well, over 1100 words today. MC is still suffering repercussions from his conforontation with the wolf, but today the very beginning of his mission begins to unfold in the form of a....PARTNER BOOK REPORT! Dun, Dun, Dun haha.  Oh, I love MG.

I've wriiten 1,000 words today, with a little help from Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

It's like having an assistant.

SunflowerScribe- thanks for the welcome!  And Good for you with your word counts this week! Go for it, let the dialogue flow - you can always go back to that section and build it up more with details.

Thunderingelephants - enjoy your weekend! [ curious- what causes you to be covered in chocoalte?]

AmandaSue-- Partner book report sounds intriguing.  I love MG also.  Have fun with you new kitten  :-)

1022 words today. Fleshed out a few scenes that needed a little extra TLC while letting my mind percolate over next chapter's rescue scene.

1,000 words today, so far.

I might stop at that and go on to writing out scene sketches for the next 3or 4 scenes -- so I can get a larger word count during tomorrow morning's But-in-Chair session =)

1015 words today. Congrats Liz and Julia on your progress as well. =)

Liz! -- I'm feeling the same way you are. My next 3-4 chapters are full of action (reaching the climax of the novel very soon), so I am spending my afternoon much as you are...outlining each scene bit by bit...

Ok, I couldn't stay away! Another 1200 words today. I'm finally at the big, important action scene that I've been waiting for a long time. The dialogue has been coming to me little by little, but it keeps changing, so we'll see what finds it's way onto the page. Total word count is over 17,000, and still lots left to write. I am loving this!

Wow, I'm amazed at how much work everyone is getting done!!

Just checking in to tell you that I'm still here--sort of. I had a family vacation. Then I received a critique on another manuscript, so I've had to back-burner this one for a while. I've heard of people who can work on two stories at the same time, but I'm not one of them. The revision will take a few more days, but I'm hoping to be back at work on my draft by next week.

Keep up the good work! :cheerleader

I wrote 1100 words today. Exactly 1100 words, which made me smile. Will probably have to add a little more emotion and tension in revisions, but doing ok. Tomorrow girl will convince MC that he's been deceived and shouldn't carry out his mission. I'll be brainstorming dialogue all day.

1176 words today. As I get closer to the climax of the novel, it gets more difficult to write in long strings.

Great job Julia and AmandaSue!

And Michelle - I know how you feel. It is hard to focus on several projects. I find I can work on short stories or PB's (to some small degree), but the longer ones are harder to split attention between. I have a chapter book in revisions sitting on the back-burner for now. Good luck with your revisions. See you back soon!

Thanks, Sunflower!

I got 1304 written between late last night and this morning! Chugging right along! :train

Gotta go to the Dr. now and have my ankle looked at. I hope it's not my Achilles tendon, but something in there hurts! Then on to the day job. More later!
