A thousand words a day seems to be my "sweet spot" when I'm working on a WIP. So, I count the day a writing success when I can say I've written 1000 words I'm happy with. And for the third time this week, I made it, even surpassed it.

Want to join in?

If you made it to a thousand words (or, even your own personal goal for the day) come in and do a cheer!

Today, I'm doing the  Snoopy dance!

A thousand words and counting!!!!

1000 already today? Congratulations! As soon as exam week is over, I'm joining your club. (Right now I'm using the blueboards for avoidance.)

That seems to be my sweet spot, too.  I can do 500+ words in a sitting, and a couple of those per day works out to a fairly decent pace for actually getting a book written in a reasonable amount of time.

I won't be joining *now,* b/c I'm just starting revisions, where I count by finished chapters... but I'll be back when I go back to drafting LIAR'S MOON!

 Cheerleader for everyone!

 Smile

I've given myself a goal of completing a manuscript I started several years back by the end of the week. I have hit or surpassed the 1,000 words everyday this week except Tuesday. My husband let me sleep through the alarm, I woke up an hour late and I spent the day playing catch up and never calmed down enough to be at the keyboard!

It feels good to see that word count climbing every day. smile

This thread is great...reminds why I have eaten almost a whole bag of dark choc. kisses today...because I deserve it!

Well, I sent the manuscript off to my co-author. She gets to fill in the blanks next week.

My word count for the last 5 days?

8,864

Whoo! No wonder I have a headache and need a nap.

Can I just be a member who WANTS to write a 1000 words/day? Or perhaps a cheerleader for those who did?
Congrats to all.

And (drumroll, please), I managed to write TWO more words:

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

I hope that counts.   Red Baron

Yes, I'd like to join that club too.  Some days I have a hard time writing anything, so perhaps this motivates me to when I come home exhausted, still get some time to write.

I wrote the first 500 words on my new MG WIP I'd been procrastinating on.  Not quite in a groove yet, but I'm feeling pretty  Snoopy for finally getting started.

I wrote 1850 words today!  Chicken Dance  Granted, it doesn't happen every day (in fact there's been a writing drought around here for a few weeks). BUT, I've had a lightbulb moment and everything's falling into place with my MS, so I hope to stay here in the 1000K-a-day club!   Yippee

Hey, H. -- you make me  Smile, too!

I'm so glad to have this thread because it gives me someplace to report to -- and normally on a weekend I wouldn't even try to write. Too much going on with the family. BUT, today I've written 350 words!!!! And it's all because I wanted to keep producing with all of you!

So, THANKS to all of you for keeping me motivated.  Mob

And HUGE   Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! to tfb3 and SarahE!!!

Keep going "Special Ks!"  Applause

I did it -- stream-of-consciousness that morphed into the start of something fiction-ish that came out of nowhere but has promise.  1138 words.  This is a feat, considering I haven't written ANYTHING over 300 words or so for several days.  With two IEP meetings at work this week and a slew of other stressors, I had kind of quit for a few days and have been feeling very blocked.  But this thread inspired me to push through it, even if it was to ramble, and I'm glad I did.

 Thank You

My goal is to write (not revise!) at least 500 brand-spanking new words at least four days each week.  Since I just decreased my hours after working about twice as much as I intended to for the past year, I'm behind in my entire life so it's baby steps for now.  My goal is to up the word count as I get into a new routine.  I did my 500 today and finished a chapter I was stuck on.   Blue Bunny

I held steady at 350 words since we had to travel an hour away for two soccer games. But the nice thing? Nobody can take those 350 away from me!

Maybe, since it IS Mother's Day tomorrow I'll get some writing done???

This thread is awesome! It inspires me to be like this crazy little writing guy:  writing

I've just started the second draft of a contemporary YA that I mostly outlined beforehand (a first for me), so I'm in full-on writing mode. I've written about 500 words today so far. I'll report back when I have 500 more.

Well, not as much as I'd hoped. 200 for the day, and I guess that makes 550 for the weekend. And without this thread that count likely would have been a big fat zero. So, there's that.

Anyway, won't be around for the next couple days -- off to pick my son up from school.

I'm in. I went from 28 pages to 40 this week so this is pretty much what I am doing also. This really helps to know others are at the same pace. Now if I can only remember to not get so into the 'flow' of things that I forget to take my daughter to her orthodontist appointment!
