Our trip began when we arrived in Beijing on the evening of October 24th and ended in Shanghai on October 31st. It was an incredible experience. I hope you enjoy these photos as much I enjoyed seeing China.

Our stay in this incredible country begin with total culture shock when we immediately discovered some of the major differences in our country's ways of living everyday life. While the facilities in our hotels were what we are normally accustomed to, (except for the rock-hard beds in Beijing!) when we went out into the city to restaurants and other places of business, we discovered the Chinese people have some very different ways of doing everyday things - especially for women!

And if that wasn't enough of a change, there was the size of their dinner plates...they were the size of our coffee cup saucers.

The food was very different from what we are used to eating, too. It's not at all like the "Chinese food" that is served to us here in the states. We passed on the eel and snake teas... they just didn't appeal to our taste buds.

China is a land of many contrasts. We saw many rickety shacks and the next minute were were looking at beautiful, modern, high-rise apartment buildings and huge, fancy homes.

Some of the buildings were quite amazing.

These buildings were in Shanghai.

This is the "real" tourist area China Town in Shanghai.
